This video component is an excerpt from Ameriques which was part of a live performance, Varese 360 with music by Edgar Varese and dramaturgy and visual components by Gary Hill with full orchestra and multiple projections.

2009

Gary Hill recorded me listening to Varese’s Ameriques on two separate occasions. Each recording triggered different emotions and states of mind while listening to the same piece of music. With permission, I decided to composite them together as twin sisters mirrored through the same music. They are sititing and breathing together in the space of sound. Their arms touch each other inspite of the visible separation. While one cries the other laughs. They both share a big box of popcorn as if at the cinema watching sound.
